ST. LOUIS, Missouri - On a snowy Saturday in St. Louis, the undefeated 22nd-ranked Webster Gorlocks defeated the Lyon College Scots 102-79 in SLIAC action.

The Scots (15-10, 10-8) were outscored 38-16 in the opening quarter and could never recover. Savanna Lopez led Lyon with 16 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Natalya Kaza had 14 points, Brooklyn Rowe added 13 and Samantha Taylor scored 12 points.
Others to score for Lyon included Alexis Soloman with seven points, Allison Byars and Stella Parker both had five points, Kayla Richardson had three points, while Zharia Childress and Mia Winston both had two points each.

The Gorlocks (25-0) were off to an 8-0 start before Rowe hit a three-pointer for Lyon. Kaza made a jump shot, but soon after it was 14-5. Taylor made a free throw, but in the next two minutes Lyon College trailed 23-6. Kaza made a three-pointer, and a jump shot and Lopez scored inside, but Webster led 32-13 with 1:53 left in the first quarter. Rowe made a free throw and Lopez put in a jump shot and the Scots trailed by 22 points by the end of the first quarter.

In the second period, Byars made two free throws, Kaza added one from the free throw stripe, Taylor scored on a jumper, Rowe made two free throws, Parker hit a jump shot, Byars and Taylor both made a free throw and by the 5:02 mark before halftime, Webster led 46-27.
Taylor put in a layup, Parker hit a three-pointer, Kaza scored inside, Taylor made another layup, then Byars and Kaza scored, but Lyon trailed 61-40 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Rowe made a three-pointer, then Lopez accounted for the next six Scots' points to make it 64-49. Taylor made two free throws, Lopez scored inside Soloman made a three-pointer, Richardson scored and made a free throw for a three-point play, and Rowe made two free throws to end the quarter with Lyon College behind 83-61.

Taylor scored to open the fourth period, Childress cored a minute later, then a minute after that, Lopez made two free throws to make it 91-67. Kaza made two free throws, Lopez put in a basket and Rowe scored with 4:37 remaining to make it 100-73 Webster.
