ST. LOUIS, Missouri - Despite a double-double by
Samantha Taylor, who had 14 points and 11 steals and 18 points from
Natalya Kaza and 14 points from
Savanna Lopez, the Lyon College women's basketball Scots dropped a 77-67 decision at Webster on Thursday night in SLIAC action.
The Scots (4-4, 1-1) led 17-13 after the first period, but trailed at halftime 29-27. Lyon College was outscored 21-19 in the third quarter and lost the fourth quarter 27-21.
Kaza made three-of-five three-pointers and hit five field goals to go with five free throws and had five rebounds for 18 points. Taylor tied a school record with 11 steals in a game (her own record when she was a freshman), dished out eight assists and hit for 14 points. Lopez had her outside jumper hitting in the first half and was six-of-10 from the field for 14 points.Â
Others to score included
Haven Cooper with eight points and seven rebounds to lead the Scots.
Dalye Hambelton had six points and five rebounds,
Molly Mason scored four points and
Alexis Shelton hit a three-pointer in the game.
The Scots will be on the road at Westminster on Saturday afternoon in Fulton, Missouri.
