PARAGOULD, Arkansas - The Crowley's Ridge Pioneers defeated the Lyon College Scots women's basketball team 106-75 on Tuesday afternoon at the Carter Activities Center in Paragould.
The Scots (4-6) trailed 27-15 after the first quarter and fell behind 48-30 at halftime. Crowley's Ridge outscored Lyon College 29-24 in the third quarter and 29-21 in the fourth period.
The Scots were led by
Samantha Taylor with 15 points and four steals.
Natalya Kaza scored 13 points and
Emily Walley scored 11 points. Others to score for Lyon College included seven points and seven rebounds for
Savanna Lopez,
Jewel Walley had eight points,
Molly Mason scored four points and had 11Â rebounds,
Alexis Shelton scored two points,
Olivia Jones had five points,
Mia Winston and
Izabel Soto both had three points each, while
Savannah Stout and
Chasity Taylor scored one point each.
Lyon College shot 29.2 percent from the field made 9-of-32 three-pointers for 28 percent and hit 10-of-15 free throws. The Scots were out rebounded 58 to 43, while Crowley's Ridge shot 49 percent. and made 15-of-35 three-pointers.
The Scots trailed by as much as 35 points in the game.Â
