CLARKSVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College women's basketball Scots fell behind 19-6 by the end of the first quarter and eventually lost to the University of the Ozarks Eagles 77-64 on Tuesday night in Clarksville.
The Scots (3-1) were led by 14 points from
Samantha Taylor, 12 points from
Savanna Lopez and 10 points from
Natalya Kaza. Lopez had her second double-double in as many games with 11 rebounds to go with her points.Â
Dalye Hambelton had seven points as did
Haven Cooper.
Izabel Soto scored six points,
Alexis Shelton scored three points,
Molly Mason and
Olivia Jones both had two points each and
Chasity Taylor scored one point.
The Scots shot 41.4 percent for the game on 24-of-58 field goals, made 7-of-19 three-pointers and 9-of-16 free throws.
Lyon College got 22 points from the paint, 15 points off of turnovers, 13 second chance points, 17 fast break points and 19 points from the bench players. The Scots trailed the entire game and suffered 19 turnovers.
Lyon College will be on the road Friday and Saturday at the Washington University tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.
