COLUMBUS, Mississippi - Hanna Birgisdottir scored the match's only goal in the 83rd minute to lift the Lyon College women's soccer Scots over host Mississippi University for Women 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Roger Short Soccer Complex in Columbus, Mississippi.

The Scots (4-9-2, 3-4-1) had seven on-goal shots and 12 shots in all. Birgisdottir goal came on an assist from Zoe Papazoglou with 83:37 showing on the clock.

Jessica Steele had two shots and one on-goal, Papazoglou had three shots and one on-goal, Allison Byars had five shots and three on-goal kicks and Nataly Furne had one on-goal shot.

Lyon goalie Sydney Wolf had two saves in the match.

With the win, the end comes to the SLIAC regular season for the Scots. Now they await a possible bid to go to the USCAA National Championship tournament next Wednesday.
