Scots women's soccer beats Blackburn College 6-0

BATESVILLE, Arkansas - Katelyn Baldaras had two goals, Deaiveon Carter scored her first goal as a Scot this season, while Hanna Birgisdottir, Jessica Steele and Millie Beller all had scores in the Lyon College women's soccer's 6-0 win over the Blackburn College Beavers in SLIAC action on Saturday at Huser Field in Batesville.

The Scots (3-5-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the SLIAC) got a goal from Balderas on an assist by Mackenzie Moody in the 14th minute of the game. Balderas scored again in the 24th minute, the Carter put in her goal on an assist from Angela Penaflor later in the 24th minute. Lyon led 3-0 at halftime of Senior Day.

In the second period, Birgisdottir scored in the 58th minute on an assist by Emma Rumore, Steele scored in the 82nd minute and Beller added her second goal of the season in the 83rd minute.

Sydney Wolf was goalie for the Scots and didn't have much action, but did  preserve the shutout victory.  Carter had four shots, three were on-goal and one of those was netted. Moody had one shot, Birgisdottir had three shots and one of those was a goal, Natalie Wyatt had three shots with one of those being on-goal, Balderas had three shots and scored two of those, Allison Byars had two shots on-goal, Penaflor had one shot on-goal, Steele had two shots on-goal and one score, Beller had one shot and one goal and Nataly Furne had seven shots, five of which were on-goal.
