BATESVILLE, Arkansas -- In the lone home event for Lyon College athletics this week, Scots volleyball sweeps Mississippi University for Women at Becknell Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
The Scots (11-3, 5-2) dominated the Owls (2-9, 0-5) in the first two sets by final scores of 25-17 and 25-18, respectively. The Owls started the third set strong, leading the Scots by as much as seven points at one time. However, a late comeback by the Scots propelled them into a 3-0 victory as they finished the final set by a score of 25-22.

Kylee Sabella had yet another phenomenal performance for the Scots, leading the team in kills (9), aces (4) and tying with senior middle blocker
Mikhayla Wright in total blocks (2). Junior setter
Madeline Hopson led the Scots in assists with 15 in total. Sophomore defensive specialist
Olivia Locke also had a stellar performance, leading the Scots with 19 digs while also putting up six assists and an ace.
The Scots will return to action this Friday night at 7:00 PM when they continue SLIAC play at Greenville University. Tonight's match will be the last home game for quite some time, as the Scots will not return to Becknell Gymnasium until Friday, October 18, when they host Fontbonne University and Westminster College for a SLIAC conference tri-match.
