BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College Scots volleyball team is atop the standings in the SLIAC after defeating Eureka College 3-0 and Principia University 3-0 in a tri-match competition at Becknell Gymnasium on Saturday.
The Scots (4-9, 2-0) defeated Eureka 25-14, 25-23 and 25-16.Â
Kylee Sabella led Lyon College with 14 kills, an ace serve and 12 digs.
Isabella Beasley and
Bethany Williams had eight kills each.
Lauren White had 24 assists to lead the Scots with one ace serve.
Samantha Ferguson had three blocked shots and Williams added a block. Hopson had 16 assists and
Olivia Locke had 1.
Paeton Tucker led in digs with 16, while Locke had 15.
Against Principia, Lyon College won the match 25-1, 25-18 and 25-12.
Claire Corothers and
Janiya Vanderpool had six kills each to lead Lyon and Williams added five.
Hopson had 10 aces to lead the Scots in that category, meanwhile,
Marti Flores and Carothers had three aces. Ferguson had two blocks and Williams had one.
Macy LeGrange led in a assists with 11, White had five and Hopson had four. Flores led in digs with 13, Tucker had nine and Williams added three in the victory.
