SHERMAN, Texas - The Lyon College Scots volleyball team suffered consecutive match losses in the Dallas University Tournament against Sul Ross State University and Austin College.
With both games at Austin College on Friday night, the Scots battled close in back-and-forth sets against Sul Ross State, but lost 25-23, 25-20 and 26-24. In the second match of the night against the host Kangaroos and fell 25-20, 25-17 and 25-13.
Statistically against Sul Ross State, Lyon had 33 kills and 24 errors. The Scots had five service aces and 53 digs in the three sets.
Kylee Sabella led Lyon with 11 kills and had 10 digs.
Madeline Hopson came up with 12 assists at her setter position.
Samantha Ferguson had eight kills and
Keeley Beary finished with six kills on the night.
Paeton Tucker had four kills and eight digs,
Erin Haigwood led the Scots with 24 digs.
Against Austin College, the Scots had 26 kills as a team, 32 errors, four service aces and 56 digs. Beary led Lyon with seven kills, Sabella had four, Ferguson came up with three kills and Tucker added five.
Isabella Beasley had four kills and
Bethany Williams added three kills. Hopson had eight assists, while
Lauren White added 10 assists from setting. Haigwood again led in digs with 23, while Tucker had 12 and Sabella added 11.Â
The Scots play the University of Dallas on Saturday at noon.
