ST. LOUIS, Missouri - NAIA's No. 8 Missouri Baptist Spartans swept a three-game series with the Lyon College Scots baseball with a 15-5 win in seven innings on Saturday afternoon at Spartans Field in St. Louis.

The Scots (16-21, 9-9) managed to score five runs against the American Midwest Conference leaders. 
Logan Lightner singled in the top of the third inning to bring in Derek Underwood and Zane Wallace.
And in the top of the seventh inning Lightner singled up the middle to score Hayden Hargrave. Kyle Carver followed that with a single through the right side to bring in Wallace and Austin Shipman hit a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in Lightner.

Lyon College had seven hits in the game. Lightner and Shipman had two hits apiece. Carver, Lane McLeavain and Wallace had one hit each. Wallace scored twice, while Hargrave, Underwood and Lightner also crossed the plate for the Scots. Shipman had a double and an sacrifice fly to score runs, while Underwood, Hargrave and Wallace were all hit by pitches.

Jesse McGonigal started the game on the mound for Lyon College. He went 1.1 innings, gave up five hits and seven runs. Ian Jackson came to pitch for 2.2 innings and allowed five hits and five runs. Beau Smith pitched for two outs and walked three batters, then Andre Davis came for two innings of work and he allowed two hits and three runs. Nick Chaney came in to finish out the game pitching for the Scots.
