ST. LOUIS, Missouri - Six Lyon College Scots basketball players scored in double-figures in Lyon College's first SLIAC game of the season and defeated the host Fontbonne Griffins 90-61 on Thursday night.
Allison Byars led the Scots with 20 points,
Savanna Lopez scored 17 points,
Stella Parker had 14,
Brooklyn Rowe came in for 11 points, while
Natalya Kaza and
Samantha Taylor both added 10 points each in the victory.
Zharia Childress scored eight points and had seven rebounds.
The Scots scored 20 or more points in each of the four quarters in the game. Lyon led 20-13 after the opening period then added 20 points in the second quarter to lead 40-24 at halftime. The Scots put up 23 points in the third period and 27 in the fourth to open up an insurmountable lead on Fontbonne.
Lyon scored 40 points in the paint, had 39 points come off of Fontbonne turnovers, got 15 second chance points and 18 points off of fast-break points. The Scots' bench produced 19 points in the game.
