Scots men's soccer defeats Spalding University 2-1

BATESVILLE, Arkansas - The Lyon College men's soccer Scots improved to 6-5-1 overall and 3-1-1 in SLIAC play after defeating Spalding University on Saturday afternoon 2-1 at Huser Field.

The Scots got a goal 10 minutes into the game when Erik Oliveria got free for a kick off an assist by Andrei Galca. Just before halftime, Oliveria got another goal on a penalty kick at the with eight minutes left to lead 2-0 at the break.

Spalding opened the second half with a score in the first five minutes, but the Scots defense held strong with the defensive play of Aiden McGeown, Ronaldo Jacob, Axel Runarsson, Nate Peterson, Pedro Mota and Lucas Crivilatti. 
McGeown had two shots in the match, Galca had one, Oliveria had three shots all of which were on-goal and netted two goals. Matheus Nunes had two shots, while Cristian Cruz and Micah Rangel each had a shot for the Scots. 

Goalkeeper Gabriel Rangel had two saves in 90 minutes of play. McGeown, Mota, Oliveria and Jacob did not come off the field during the game.
