BATESVILLE, ARK. - The Lyon College men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting the Central Baptist College Mustangs in an American Midwest Conference showdown at Becknell Gymnasium tonight.
The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m. and is followed by the men's game, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The Scots women (4-6 overall and 3-3) are in the mid-pack of the conference after defeating Stephens College in their last outing with a 74-69 victory.
Allison Byars led Lyon College with 22 points, while
Mari-Hanna Newsom added 16, Paige Tage had 10 and
Kristen Baham added 10 points in the win.Â
The Mustangs (7-4, 2-4) are coming off a conference victory over William Woods 62-60. Olivia Lambrigtsen led CBC with 14 points, while Lydia York and Diana Rivera had 13 points each.
The Mustangs men's team is coming to tonight's contest with a 86-79 win over Louisiana Christian in their last outing. CBC (11-4, 4-1) are currently the leaders in the AMC standings. Braylon Steen had 27 points to lead the Mustangs on the road at Louisiana Christian. Gabe Johnson had 15 points and Brevin Brimble added 14 in the win.
The Scots (3-7, 0-4) are not at the top of the standings in the AMC and are coming off an 82-50 loss at Henderson State University in an exhibition matchup.Â
