ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The Lyon College Scots softball team won their first two games of the season by defeating the Stephens College Stars 9-1 and 7-0 in an American Midwest Conference double-header on Saturday afternoon at Stephens College.
In the first game,
Jasmine Carlos singled to left field to score
Kassidy Robinson and
Addison Harmon. for a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the second inning, Harmon reached on an error that scored
Georgia Holzer and
Emily Martinez for a 4-0 lead.Â
Holzer singled to center field in the top of the third inning to score Carlos and
Celsey Wood for a 6-0 lead.
After Stephens scored a run in the fifth inning, Wood reached on an error that scored Robinson in the seventh inning and
Trinity Arrambide doubled to center field to score Megan Englehardt for a 9-1 lead.
In the second game, Harmon started the scoring with a solo homer in the top of the third inning. In the top of the fourth, Martinez doubled to right field to score Holzer and Englehardt.Â
In the fifth, Wood singled to center to bring in Harmon and in the seventh inning, Robinson hit a two-run homer to bring in
Melanie Mooney.
Holzr hit a sacrifice fly to score Englehardt in the seventh to make it a 7-0 game.
The Scots are 2-12 and 2-0 in the AMC. They will play a double-header on Sunday at Columbia College.
