BATESVILLE- ARK. – The Lyon College softball team hosted the Park University Pirates and the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles this weekend.
The Scots lost to Park 7-0 in the opener, then dropped an 11-2 decision to the Eagles on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Lyon College battled in a 9-5 loss to Park and lost the 6-1 to TAMUT on Sunday.
In the first game, Megan Englehardt had a hit. It was the only hit in the game for the Scots.
In the second game for the Scots,
Addison Harmon was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Englehardt scored a run and had two hits on three at-bats.
Jasmine Carlos had two runs batted in with a double.
Kassidy Robinson and Englehardt both had stolen bases in the game. Texarkana won the game 11-2.
On Sunday, the Scots tied Park 1-1 in the second inning when
McKenzie Campbell reached first on an error and scored MK Duffield. Later on, Park was leading 7-1 in the third inning, Robinson hit a two-run homer that scored Harmon to make it a 7-3 game.
After Park went up 9-3, Harmon singled in Campbell and Robinson singled in
Emily Martinez to make it 9-5. In that game, Harmon was 2-for-4 with one run scored and had a run batted. Robinson was 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs. Engelhardt was 1-for-4, Duffield was 1-for-2 with a run scored and Campbell was 1-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI.
Robinson and
Trinity Arrambide both had stolen bases in the game.
Against TAMUT, Campbell singled in Harmon in the sixth inning to make it a 6-1 game. Harmon was 3-for-4, scoring the only Scots run. Campbell was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Lyon College softball will be in action again at the Gulf Shores Tournament from March 4 through March 5.
