ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Joe Weatherford (Lyon) and Garon Johnson (Central Baptist) collected the first American Midwest Conference baseball weekly awards of the 2022 campaign after a strong start to their seasons.
AMC Baseball Player of the Week

- Collected 13 hits in 32 at bats including three home runs and 11 runs batted in
- Led the charge in a 17-8 win over Oklahoma Wesleyan, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, one home run, and five RBI
- Added another three-hit, two-double day in a 20-11 win over Texas A&M Texarkana
- Weatherford wrapped up the week with a 4-for-4 performance against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) which included three runs scored, a home run, and two RBI

- Surrendered just two earned runs on four hits through 10 innings
- Took a no-decision against Northwestern Ohio after collecting six strikeouts over five innings while allowing just two runs on two hits
- Spun a seven-strikeout gem against Champion Christian, holding the opposition to just one unearned run and two hits over five innings of work
