COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Lyon College Scots men's soccer team had its season come to an end on Saturday afternoon after a 3-0 loss to the Columbia Cougars in the American Midwest Conference tournament at Columbia, Missouri.
The Scots (3-13-3) had only seven shots in the game and two of them were on-goal attempts. Columbia had 20 shots and seven on-goal kicks where three found the net.
Andrei Galca had two shots and one on-goal kick,
Pedro Mota had a shot,
Leonardo Galdino had three shots and one on-goal and
Jevanni Hinkson had one shot for Lyon College in the tournament match.
Columbia scored its first goal with 7:07 gone in the first period and had two more goals within five minutes of each other later in the first half. The Cougars second goal came at the 27:56 mark and 32:30 into the game, they got a high goal to go in for a 3-0 lead.
Galdino got a shot on-goal that was blocked at the 37:11 mark and Hinkson's on-goal shot hit the post. Galdino had another shot at the 57:07 mark of the second half that was saved by the Columbia goalie, Galca took a shot at the 63:47 mark that was high of the goal. Galca had a shot on-goal saved at the 71:03 mark of the second half to complete the Lyon College offensive attack.
The Scots were whistled for four yellow cards in the contest.Â
