Scots men's basketball hosts Blue Mountain Christian University

BATESVILLE, Ark. - The Lyon College SAAO is sponsoring "WHITE OUT NIGHT" when the Fighting Scots men's basketball team hosts the Blue Mountain Christian Toppers tonight at 7 p.m. at Becknell Gymnasium. 

The Scots (1-2, 0-1) are coming off a tough American Midwest Conference opening loss at Missouri Baptist University 88-73 last Saturday afternoon. Blue Mountain (4-2, 0-2) lost on the road at Brewton-Parker 64-59 in the SSAC. 

The Toppers were led by Vatangoe Donzo with 13 points and JonDarius Warren had 11 points. Bell led the Scots against Missouri Baptist with 21 points, Israel Palmer had 15 points, Nikola SaSaroga scored 11 and Delvonte McCloud had 10 points. 

It has been nearly eight years since the two teams have played. The Toppers won the last meeting in 2014, 67-65. Overall, the series between the two teams is led by Lyon College 12-7. Both teams are 4-4 at home against each other. 

Blue Mountain started the season with a 68-64 win against Rust College and followed that with a 90-46 win over Southeastern Baptist College. The Toppers won a 105-69 scrimmage against John Melvin, then defeated Crowley's Ridge College 82-63 and won 80-60 against Southeastern Baptist College. 
Blue Mountain lost an exhibition game at North Alabama 100-60, then entered SSAC play with a loss at Middle Georgia State College 71-64 before losing on Saturday at Brewton-Parker.

The Scots opened their year with a 79-76 loss at Arkansas Baptist, but evened their record with an 82-74 win at Ecclesia College. Lyon College lost its exhibition games 83-46 to Southeast Missouri State and 82-58 to Arkansas State University.
