BATESVILLE, Ark. - Taylor Hammons and Hailey Williams both scored goals in the first 20 minutes of the Lyon College women's soccer team's match against the No. 24 Missouri Baptist Spartans, but found themselves in a 2-2 tie by halftime and eventually dropped a 3-2 decision in American Midwest Conference play at Huser Field on Saturday afternoon.

Williams took the first on-goal shot of the game by the Scots only two minutes in, then a foul on MBU gave Hammons a shot and she kicked over the outstretched hands of the Spartans goalie for a Lyon College 1-0 lead.

Williams' goal came at the 18:53 mark of the first half on an assist from Zone Papazoglou for a 2-0 Scots lead. 

Missouri Baptist came back to get goals at the 40:11 and the 43:01 marks of the first half to tie the game 2-2. Unfortunately, Lyon College (1-13, 0-6) didn't find the net again.

Missouri Baptist took the lead at the 73:27 mark of the second half on a close in goal.
