ST.LOUIS, Mo. - The Lyon College Scots men's soccer team defeated the University of Health, Sciences and Pharmacy Eutectics on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis 6-0.
The Scots (3-8-3, 2-1-1) led 1-0 in the American Midwest Conference match at halftime, but scored five times in the second half to pull away.
Tavaris Wellington served up a hat-trip with three goals for Lyon College,
Tinotenda Mtangadura had a goal and
Martin Esquivel capped off the scoring with two straight goals.
Lyon College took 33 shots at the goal with 16 of them being on-goal kicks.
Kobe Knights and
Yannick Ferdinand Ossinonde both had one shot on-goal.
Andrei Galca had three shots, Wellington made six attacks and four shots on goal, scoring three, Leondardo Galdino had a kick,
Jevanni Hinkson took three shots, two of which were on goal,
Warren Simpson had two shots and one on-goal attempt. Aiden McGeown had one on-goal shot,
Ronaldo Jacobs had four shots and one on-goal kick, Mtangadura had three shots on-goal and netted one, Esquivel took four shots, two of them on-goal and both found the net and
Felipe Teruel had four shots in the match.

Dan Huff made three.
After the Eutectics took the first on-goal shot, Lyon College started its attack with Galca just missing high and Wellington hitting the goal post in the first 10 minutes. On a corner kick from Galca, Wellington's shot was saved. Two minutes later, Simpson's on-goal shot was saved, but the Scots continued to pound the ball towards the net. Teruel's had one shot go high and another blocked within a minute.
Galca had another corner kick and Hinkson's shot was saved at teh 19:24 mark. Finally, Wellington got his second attempt to go in the net for a 1-0 Scots lead.
McGeown's shot was saved, then Wellington had a his shot hit the cross bar and Galca's shot was high. At the 34:09 mark, Hinkson had another shot on-goal that was saved. Matangadura had a shot saved and Esquivel's first attempt at an on-goal shot was blocked just before the first half ended.Â
Ossinonde opened the second half with an immediate shot on-goal that was saved, then Jacobs booted one wide left resulting in a corner kick from Galdino. Lyon College was called offsides, but another corner kick by Galdino ended up with Jacobs' on-goal shot going high. Hinkson came back to kick an on-goal shot wide at the 52:16 mark.Â
Huff saved an attack by the Eutectics and Mtagadura had an on-goal shot saved on the other end of the field. Simpson's shot on goal went wide and Galdino's shot at the 57:58 mark was high. Wellington got an assists on his second goal that came at the 62:13 mark to make it 2-0.Â
Jacobs followed that with a on-goal shot that was wide left and tried it again three minutes later, but this shot was saved. Teruel came back to miss wide right, but Wellington put in his third goal of the game on another assists from
Ronaldo Jacobs to make it a 3-0 Scots lead.
Knights had a shot on-goal that was saved and Galca's shot was blocked, but Mtangadura found the net on Jacobs' third assist to make it a 4-0 advantage for Lyon College at the 77:36 mark of the match.
At the 80:23 mark, Esquivel got his first goal to put the Scots up 5-0, then added his second goal in the final minute of the game for a 6-0 match victory.
