Lyon College's Kelani Corbett won the Rob Horton Memorial Women's Tournament in Franklin Springs, Georgia on Sunday in the college women's 191-pound category.
Corbett defeated Nia Crosdale of King University 14-2 in the championship match winning by fall in 5:47. Corbett scored four points on a take down in the first period at the 2:24 mark and Crosdale scored two points with 56 seconds left to cut into Corbett's lead 4-2. In the second period, Corbett managed a two-point maneuver at the 2:34 mark and scored in a flurry of points during the final 45 seconds including a fall to outscore Crosdale 10-0 and win the title.
Corbett defeated Destiny Baltierra of Limestone University 10-0 in the first period of her opening match of the tournament for a technical fall. Corbett won a fall in at the 46 second mark of the semifinals against Andreia Langley of Emory & Henry 3-0.
Scots wrestler Alexandrea Banag, in the 143-pound class, made it to the championship round. Banag dropped a 10-0 technical fall decision to Ashlynn Ortega of King University.  Banag beat Elizabeth Bound 14-3 in the first round. She led 8-3 after the first period and shutout Bound in the second period 6-0 to win a technical fall. Banag defeated Claudia Keanini of Liberty University 11-0 in the semifinals on a technical fall.
Rebekah Garcia of Lyon wrestled Ulyette Curiel of Life University 8-1 on a fall at the 2:57 mark. Gracia dropped an 8-0 decision to Ana Luciano of King University in the quarterfinals. Gracia moved to the consolation bracket semifinals and was defeated by Sierra Marie Miller of Presbyterian College 4-1 fall at the 21 seconds mark after gaining a 1-0 lead.
Ashley Whetzal finished third overall in the 123-pound classification. She defeated Paige Denke 10-6 in round two. Whetzal defeated Annika Lindberg 4-0 on a fall at the 1:25 mark in round three.
Emma De Brum battled in the 116-pound class for Lyon College and wrestled Kasey Baynon of Emmanuel College and Ainslie Lane of Presbyterian College.
