John Paul Morgan and
Trenton Bell both scored 17 points apiece,
Ben Keton put 16 points and
Grant Patterson scored 12 points in a 90-70 loss to the Central Baptist College Mustangs at Becknell Gymnasium on Tuesday night in American Midwest Conference action.
Morgan ended up with a double-double for the game by hauling down 11 rebounds.
Eric Koludrovic scored eight points and had a season-high 16 rebounds. Three Central Baptist players scored 20 points or more. Kelvin Robinson led all scorers with 27 points. Jordan Parker scored 20 points and Brevin Brimble ended up with 20 points on the night.
Trenton made two three-pointers in the early stages of the game, but CBC came back to take the advantage by two points. Morgan tied the game on a jumper around two players and Koludrovic tied the game at 11-11.
Later in the half, Morgan put in two free throws and Keton made a long three-pointer. The Scots fell behind by 16 points until Patterson made a three-pointer for Lyon Bell followed that with a trey, but CBC went up 45-29 before Bell scored inside and Koludrovic nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer, but Lyon trailed 48-34.
The Scots fell behind by as much as 30 points, 68-38 before battling back to cut the score to 12 points. Morgan connected on a three-pointer and Patterson put in a short jump shot. Bell scored inside and made two free throws. Bell made two free throws and field goal before Keton scored to make it a 74-57 game.
Keton made a three-pointer to make it 74-62, but CBC stopped the Lyon rally with an 8-0 run to end the game.
