BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team closed out a brief two-game homestand on Monday with a 3-0 win against Philander Smith College. The Scots will now prepare to open up a four-game road trip later this week at Freed-Hardeman and Bethel. The Scots will play at Freed-Hardeman on Thursday at 7 p.m. and at Bethel on Saturday at 4 p.m.

SCOUTING REPORTS
LYON: The Scots improved to 9-3 on the season following their win against Philander Smith College. The Scots used a balanced attack against the Panthers as four players –
Isabella Beasley,
Charm Henderson,
Paeton Tucker and
Maria Eleni Bampiri – recorded seven kills each in the match.
Adia Sherbeyn posted another strong showing on the defensive side of the court as she registered 23 digs, while
Erin Haigwood finished with 15.
Layla Wilson and
Laney Blankenship dished out 19 and 18 assists, respectively.
FHU: Freed-Hardeman enters Thursday's matchup with a record of 4-5 on the season. Kacey Donegan is the go-to player for FHU on the offensive side of the net as she has totaled a team-high 109 kills. Emma Campbell leads the Lady Lions with 150 digs so far this season. FHU runs the offense through Allie Humphry as she has dished out 283 assists to lead the Lady Lions.
BU: Bethel enters the weekend with a record of 5-1 on the season and will host Tennessee Southern on Friday before facing the Scots on Saturday. Bethel defeated the Scots in straight sets earlier this season on Aug. 31 in Batesville. Hannah McGowan leads BU with 80 kills. Nayeli Vilchez (67), Sami Parker (66) and McGowan (61) are the top three leaders in digs this season for Bethel.
