BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team will open its 2021 season at home on Saturday afternoon when the Scots take on Louisiana College in non-conference action at noon.

SCOUTING REPORTS
LYON: The Scots are coming off one of their best seasons in recent years after posting a 7-6 record this past spring. The Scots finished in fourth in the AMC this past spring, which was the best finish for the Scots since they ended the year in third place in the conference during the 2015 season. Lyon returns three All-American Midwest Conference selections to their roster this fall in Emma Brandes, Sarah Evans and Hailey Gonzales. Brandes and Evans were both first-team selections, while Gonzales was named an honorable mention. Evans tallied a team-best seven goals and three assists this past spring. Brandes netted two goals to go along with one assist, while Gonzales finished the spring with five goals, including one game-winning goal.
LC: Saturday's contest will also be the season opener for Louisiana College. The Lady Wildcats posted a record of 0-4 this past spring as an NCAA Division III institution before transitioning to the NAIA this summer. The Lady Wildcats return their starting goalkeeper, Bailey Danton, who recorded 38 saves in four matches during the spring.
