BATESVILLE, Ark. – For college football fans, the wait between seasons is usually around 8-9 months, but following an unordinary spring season, the wait was only half as long as the Lyon College football team will return to the gridiron this Saturday when they take on Missouri Baptist on the road. Kick-off for Saturday's game is set for 6 p.m.

SCOUTING REPORTS
LYON: The Scots look to build off of their spring season and will lean on several key returnees this fall. The Scots return eight players who earned All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors during the spring. J.D. Horn and Bradley Dee highlight the all-conference returnees as both players received second-team honors. Horn earned second-team honors as a wide receiver as he led the Scots with 21 receptions for 297 yards. He was also named an honorable mention kick and punt returner after returning five punts for 75 yards and nine kickoffs for 179 yards. Dee was the Scots leading rusher as he carried the ball 57 times for 173 yards. Dakota Braswell (RB), Malcolm Howard (OL), Balah Muhammad (DB), Cole Peppers (LB), Chris Reese (LB) and Jason Vakasiuola (OL) all received honorable mention accolades.
MBU: The Spartans posted a 1-6 record this past spring, but like the Scots, returns several of their key players as well. Josh Munn returns as the starting quarterback after completing 79-of-156 passes for 965 with five touchdowns. Felix Pippenger ran the ball 43 times for 162 yards with a pair of scores. Defensively, a player to watch is linebacker Blake Knight, who recorded 52 tackles, with 4.5 tackles for loss. He also had one interception and recovered two fumbles.

Following Saturday's game at Missouri Baptist, the Scots will open up Sooner Athletic Conference play on the road at No. 23 Ottawa-Arizona on Sept. 4.
