BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team battled in-state foe, Williams Baptist University, in an American Midwest Conference match tonight. The Scots fell behind early and could not muster a comeback as the Eagles defeated Lyon in four sets.

Lyon moves to 8-12 on the year and 3-5 in American Midwest Conference action, while Williams Baptist University improves to 8-13 and 3-6 in conference play.     

GAME FLOW
The Scots lost the first two sets by identical scores, 25-23. Lyon found their rhythm in the third set as the Scots jumped out to an early 3-0 advantage. Lyon quickly extended their lead to six points, 13-7, on a Courtney Erby kill (assisted by Kaitlyn Jackson). WBU tried to cut into Lyon's lead, but the Scots overwhelmed the Eagles to a third-set victory, 25-15.

In the fourth stanza, the Eagles sprinted out to an early 10-4 lead. Lyon cut the visitor's lead to four points following a kill from Alley Edwards (assisted by Levia Taegtmeyer). However, WBU continued to extend their advantage and clinched the match by winning the fourth set, 25-12.

KEY STATISTICS
- Maria Eleni Bampiri and Alley Edwards led the Scots with 14 kills apiece in the match.  
- Kaitlyn Jackson (25) and Kendra Davidson (24) combined for 49 assists in the contest.         
- WBU edged the Scots in digs, 73-71. 

WHAT'S AHEAD FOR THE SCOTS
The Scots will return to the court tomorrow night for their senior day match against (RV) Columbia College. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.
