BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team will play four matches over a five-day stretch this week. Lyon begins with a contest against Blue Mountain College on Tuesday. Then, the Scots will have a day off before three matches over three days against Crowley's Ridge College (Thursday), William Woods University (Friday), and Stephens College (Saturday). The Lyon and Blue Mountain College match is set for Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. inside Becknell Gymnasium.
The Matchups
Lyon College: The Scots are 3-5 through their first eight matches this season.
Maggee Hobson has been a double-double machine for the Scots as she has recorded a double-double in all eight matches this year. The senior paces Lyon with 161 kills, while adding 134 digs and 13 service aces. Defensively,
Adia Sherbeyn has been all over the court for the Scots as she has recorded a team-high 216 digs this season.
Blue Mountain College: The Toppers sport a 5-6 record this season. Offensively, Taylor Wright (team-high 124 kills) and Sydney Colledge (team-best 323 assists) lead the charge for BMC. Meanwhile, Micah Hoffpauir paces the Toppers in digs with 165 on the year.
Crowley's Ridge College: The Lady Pioneers are 2-13 on the season. The duo of Emi Elms and Olivia Deckelman have combined for 287 kills this season, while Kaitlyn Perkins has recorded a team-leading 321 digs.
William Woods University: The Owls will be the first American Midwest Conference opponent the Scots will face this season. WWU lost their only match of the season to MidAmerica Nazarene University back in late February. Hannah Kuehl paces the Owls in kills (12), while Tess Schannuth leads the team in assists (44), and Tori Rosemann has registered the team high in digs (30).
Stephens College: The Stars have posted a 1-5 record through their first six matches this season. Offensively, everything runs through Megan Reese as she has accounted for 80% of SC's assists. Mckenzi Domescik-Rink leads the Stars in kills with 43, while Mollie Thompson anchors the SC defense with 86 digs on the year.
Series History
Blue Mountain College: This will be the first meeting between Lyon College and Blue Mountain College.
Crowley's Ridge College: Lyon is 15-1 all-time against CRC. The Scots will look to avenge an earlier loss to the Lady Pioneers back on Feb. 22 of this season.
William Woods University: Lyon is 0-8 all-time against the Owls.
Stephens College: Lyon is undefeated against the Stars as the Scots have posted a 7-0 record all-time against SC.
