Scots Battle Three AMC Foes over Two Days

The Lyon College Volleyball Team has an important slate of matches ahead

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team squares off against three conference foes in Missouri this weekend. The Scots will battle No. 5 Missouri Baptist University on Friday before two matches on Saturday against University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis and Harris-Stowe State University.

The Matchups
Lyon College: The Scots carry a 7-9 record and 2-2 mark in conference play into the contests.  Kaitlyn Jackson has tallied a team-high 377 assists on the season, while Maggee Hobson has notched a team-best 238 kills. Adia Sherbeyn and Madison James headline Lyon's stout defense as Sherbeyn has totaled 354 digs and James has added 48 blocks on the year. 

No. 5 Missouri Baptist University: The fifth-ranked Spartans have been dominant this year to the tune of a 15-2 record and 6-0 mark in conference play. Isidora Stojovic leads the MBU attack as she has tallied a team-leading 135 kills on the season, while Ariana Macies controls the Spartans' defense as she has accumulated a team-best 176 digs.   

University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis: The Eutectics are 12-11 on the season and 5-2 in conference play after winning their last four matches. Offensively, Lauren Brown (team-high 244 kills) and Kacie Kinnikin (team-best 416 assists) lead the charge for UHSP. Meanwhile, Aubree Mann paces the Eutectics in digs with 333 on the year.

Harris-Stowe State University: The Hornets are 1-7 on the season and 0-6 in conference play. Ariel Stroud paces the Hornets with 49 kills, while Junoria Worthy headlines HSSU's defense with a team-leading 68 digs.

No. 5 Missouri Baptist University: Lyon is 0-8 all-time against the Spartans.

University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis: The Scots are 5-1 all-time against the Eutectics with their most recent meeting ending in a three-set victory for Lyon.     

Harris-Stowe State University: The Scots own an unblemished 7-0 record over the Hornets. In their most recent matchup against HSSU, Lyon defeated the Hornets in straight sets.

Up Next
The Scots will return to the court Apr. 1 as Lyon welcomes Williams Baptist University to Becknell Gymnasium. The conference test between the Scots and Eagles will begin on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
