BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Scots used one first-half goal and a trio of second-half goals to defeat Harris-Stowe State University by a score of 4-1 on Wednesday.
Lyon moves to 5-5 overall, 5-3 in the AMC, while Harris-Stowe State University drops to 6-5 overall, 5-4 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
The match remained scoreless until the 37
th minute as
Sarah Evans delivered a long-range shot that one hopped past the goalie and into the back of the net, giving Lyon a 1-0 advantage. The Scots would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Harris-Stowe State University scored an early second-half goal, knotting the match at one as Adrianna Smith struck a shot into the top portion of the goal. The match remained knotted at one until the 73
rd minute.
Alexandria Denton was the first to a loose ball in the box. Denton slid a shot past the HSSU goalie and into the back of the net, giving Lyon a 2-1 lead. A little over ten minutes later,
Caitlynn Porter slid a pass to
Alexandria Denton. Denton took a touch and delivered a shot into the back of the net, extending Lyon's lead to two. Just one minute later,
Kate Whitenton sent a deep pass to
Ana Lupton. Lupton flicked the ball forward to
Hailey Gonzales. Gonzales beat the HSSU goalie, scoring her fifth goal of the season and giving Lyon a 4-1 victory over Harris-Stowe State University on Wednesday.
