Upset-minded Scots Travel to No. 24 Arizona Christian Saturday

The Scots will look to upset No. 24 Arizona Christian on the road on Saturday at noon (central time)

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College football team has its sights set on upsetting a top-25 team for the second consecutive season as the Scots will travel to No. 24 Arizona Christian and face the Firestorm on Saturday at noon (central time).

THE MATCHUP
LYON: The Scots battled last weekend in their home opener against SAGU, but fell just short to the Lions by a score of 27-20. The Scots fell to 0-2 (0-2 Sooner Athletic Conference) with the loss.

Isaiah Bradford accounted for three touchdowns last week against SAGU after rushing for a pair of scores and throwing for another. Bradford will get the start again this week at quarterback for the Scots. This season, he has completed 30-of-62 passes for 342 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Bradford's favorite targets have been J.D. Horn and Jeremiah Bigham. Horn leads the team with eight receptions this season for 93 yards, while Bigham has caught five passes for a team-high 101 yards.

Defensively, Cole Peppers leads the Scots with 22 total tackles this season. Peppers also is credited with one-half of a sack and one-half of a tackle-for-loss. Chris Reese is second on the team with 15 total tackles.

ACU: The Firestorm rallied from a 21-point, fourth-quarter deficit and defeated Ottawa-Arizona, 45-35, last weekend as Arizona Christian enters Saturday's contest at 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the SAC.

Shea Morales is in line to get the start at quarterback for the Firestorm on Saturday. Morales has completed 59-of-115 passes for 752 yards with five touchdowns and three interceptions. Jon Cole is the go-to receiver for the Firestorm as he has caught 45 passes for 933 yards and nine touchdowns.

Jacob Hernandez and Maurice Powell are the players to watch on the defensive side of the ball for ACU. Hernandez leads the team with 54 total tackles to go along with 7.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack. Powell is second on the team with 44 total tackles, but leads ACU in tackles-for-loss (9.5) and sacks (6.0).

Following Saturday's game at No. 24 Arizona Christian, the Scots will have their bye week before hosting Langston on Mar. 27 at 2 p.m.
