THE MATCHUP

LYON: The Scots are coming off a record-setting season in 2019 as the Lyon finished 7-3 overall and 6-2 in the SAC. Both win totals are the most in program history. Lyon will have a new coach at the helm this year as Chris Douglas was named the fourth head coach of the Scots during the modern era last April. The Scots return four All-SAC selections from the 2019 season. Junior quarterback Isaiah Bradford was named as a Second-Team All-SAC performer. Juniors Jason Vakasiuola and Moise Occulis earned Second-Team All-SAC honors as offensive linemen. Senior kicker/punter Ignacio Gomez earned Second-Team All-SAC honors as well. Lyon was also ranked at No. 28 in the College Football America Yearbook NAAI Preseason Top-30 Poll on July 14.

WBU: Wayland Baptist enters Saturday's contest with a record of 1-2 overall and an 0-1 mark in the Sooner Athletic Conference. The Pioneers dropped their conference opener last weekend, 25-18, at Oklahoma Panhandle State. Brook Quiones is slated to get the start at quarterback for WBU. Quiones has completed 16-of-34 passes for 138 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Daniel Hurn and Brendan Strickland are the top two receivers for the Pioneers. Both players have caught nine passes and have over 100 receiving yards each. Hurn has one touchdown reception this season, while Strickland has two. Defensively, Manny Arguijo leads the team with 29 total tackles this season. Arguijo also has three tackles-for-loss on the year.
