BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team returns to the court for a pair of non-conference matches over the next two days. On Friday, the Scots travel to Missouri for a road contest against College of the Ozarks. The following day, Lyon returns to Becknell Gymnasium for a home matchup against John Brown University. Both contests begin at 6:30 p.m.

The Matchups
Lyon College: The Scots are 3-2 on the season after a pair of four-set victories over Freed-Hardeman University and Philander Smith College on Tuesday. Maggee Hobson and Adia Sherbeyn lead the charge for Lyon as Hobson is third in the NAIA for kills per set (5.1 kills) and Sherbeyn is fourth in the NAIA in digs per set (6.9 digs). Madison James has done a terrific job at the net for the Scots as she is ranked 25^th in the NAIA with 1.15 blocks per set. 

College of the Ozarks: The Lady Bobcats opened up their season against Evangel University earlier this week. The Lady Bobcats lost to EU in straight sets. Ryley Thixton recorded 10 kills in the season opener, while Emily Aldridge notched 24 assists. Defensively, Mica Chadwell leads the charge for the Lady Bobcats as she registered a team-high 17 digs.    

John Brown University: The Golden Eagles began their season with a four-set victory over Mid-America Christian University on Monday. Offensively, a trio of Golden Eagles – Micah Fouts, Ellie Lampton, and Emily Essick – are averaging double-digit kills. Lauren Cloud tallied a team-high 27 assists in the first match of the season, while Jillian Blackman headlines JBU's stingy defense as she has recorded a team-best 27 digs.

Series History
College of the Ozarks: Lyon is 1-8 all-time against the Lady Bobcats. However, the Scots won the last meeting against C of O on Oct. 22, 2019.    

John Brown University: Lyon is 2-4 all-time against the Golden Eagles. In their most recent matchup on Aug. 25, 2017, the Scots lost in three sets.
