SHREVEPORT, LA – The LSU-Shreveport Pilots used a pair of first-half goals to defeat the Scots by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.
Lyon moves to 1-2-1 overall, while LSU-Shreveport improves to 6-3 overall.
GAME FLOW
The Pilots were able to get on the scoreboard first as Julius Williams scored his eighth goal of the season in the 12
th minute. LSU-Shreveport would tack on a second goal 12 minutes later as Marten Weinitschke netted his first goal on the year, giving the Pilots a 2-0 lead. The Scots, though, responded with a goal of their own in the 31
st minute as
Marcos Fernandez delivered a nice ball to
Matias Lopez. Lopez beat the keeper, trimming Lyon's deficit to just one. The score would remain 2-1 in favor of the Pilots after 45 minutes of action.
The Scots were able to generate more chances in the second half as they outshot the Pilots 9-6. However, Lyon was unable to find the back of the net and fell to LSU-Shreveport by a score of 2-1 Wednesday afternoon.
