BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team has three matches over two days early this week. On Monday, the Scots will travel to Crowley's Ridge College for a non-conference tilt. The match between the Scots and Lady Pioneers is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. The following day, Lyon will host a tri-match inside Becknell Gymnasium against Freed-Hardmen University and Philander Smith College. The Scots will battle FHU at 6:15 p.m. and PSC at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Matchup
Lyon College: The Scots are 1-1 on the season after overpowering Philander Smith College last week. Maggee Hobson has been outstanding in Lyon's first two matches as she leads the NAIA with 6.14 kills per set. In addition to her 43 kills in two contests, Hobson has registered double-doubles in each match. Adia Sherbeyn has also been impressive in her first two matches as a Scot, tallying 46 digs. Her 6.57 digs per set are good for seventh most in the NAIA this season. Kaitlyn Jackson paces the Scots in the assist category, recording a team-best 62 assists during the 2021 campaign.     

Crowley's Ridge College: The Lady Pioneers have posted a 1-12 record this season. Olivia Deckelman and Emi Elms lead CRC's offense as they have each registered 128 kills, while Kaitlyn Perkins headlines the Lady Pioneers' defense as she has tallied a team-high 270 digs on the year.

Freed-Hardeman University: The Lady Lions sport a 10-2 record through their first 12 matches this season. A member of the American Midwest Conference last season, FHU is in their first year as a member of the Mid-South Conference. Kacey Donagan and Claire Walker have each eclipsed 100 kills this season as they have registered 159 and 109 kills, respectively.  The Lady Lions also have two setters who have notched 200 assists in Emma Self (262) and Allie Humphry (200), while Reily Fulton headlines FHU's defense with a team-high 261 digs.  

Philander Smith College: The Lady Panthers are 1-1 on the season with their lone loss coming against the Scots earlier this season.    

Series History
Crowley's Ridge College: Lyon has dominated the Lady Pioneers as the Scots hold an unblemished 15-0 record all-time against CRC. In the their most recent meeting on Oct. 8, 2019, Lyon swept the Lady Pioneers (25-20, 25-22, 25-21).   

Freed-Hardeman University: Lyon is 2-5 all-time against the Lady Lions. In the their most recent match against FHU on Oct. 4, 2019, the Scots lost in three sets.  

Philander Smith College: Lyon is 16-1 all-time against PSC. In the their most recent meeting earlier this season, the Scots cruised to a four-set victory over the Lady Panthers.

The Scots will finish the week with a pair of contests. Lyon will have a road non-conference test against College of the Ozarks on Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m. before returning home to host John Brown University on Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m.
