BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team will get a start on its fall campaign as the Scots will face College of the Ozarks at the two-day Missouri Baptist Tournament on Friday. On Saturday, the team will take on Talladega College in a redemption match as the Scots fell to the Tornadoes 70-74 in January. The tournament will mark Coach Rodney Mayes' first- and second-career games as head coach. Tipoff on Friday is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. while Saturday's start time is to be determined.

SCOUTING REPORTS
LYON: The Scots posted a record of 11-5 (8-2 AMC) by the end of the Spring reaching the semifinals of the American Midwest Conference Championship. All but four players from the Spring roster will return to the lineup this fall. Among the four graduates are last season's All-AMC Second-Team and Third-Team selections Ray Price and Dominique Loyd, respectively. The Scots are ranked sixth on the 2021-22 AMC Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Wednesday.
OZARKS: The Bobcats finished the 2020-21 season with a record of 2-5 overall winning against Crowley's Ridge by 23 points, their largest stretch of the season.

After the completion of the Missouri Baptist Tournament on Saturday, the Scots will have their first home game against Ecclesia College on Thursday, November 4. Times will be announced at a later date.
