BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team nearly pulled off an upset of No. 17 Talladega College to open up its season on Saturday, but fell by a score of 74-70. The Scots will now host their second straight ranked opponent to open up the season when No. 19 LSU-Alexandria comes to Becknell Gymnasium on Tuesday for a 1 p.m. tip.

Spectators for Lyon College Athletic home events will be limited to Lyon College faculty, staff and students as well as two family members (including children) for Lyon College student-athletes competing at the event (must present card to enter). Admission is $5 per person (athletic events are free to all current students, staff, and faculty with Lyon ID.) Seating is limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: Ray Price and Chris Craig nearly posted a double-double each in the season opener against the Tornadoes. Price finished with a team-high 18 points, including going 9-of-12 from the charity stripe, to go along with nine rebounds. Craig netted 10 points in his first game as a Scot and tied Price with a game-high nine rebounds. Faris Verlasevic provided the Scots with a spark off the bench as the senior forward scored 13 points. As a team, the Scots finished 36-of-41 from the free throw line. Lyon limited one of the top rebounding teams in the NAIA to just six offensive rebounds, which was the first time Talladega was held to single-digits for offensive boards in a game all season through 10 games.
LSUA: LSU Alexandria enters Tuesday's matinee sporting a record of 7-2 on the season. It will be a month since the Generals last played, following a 77-76 overtime victory against Mobile. Jevon Berry is one of the players to watch for LSUA. The junior forward is averaging 11.1 points per game to go along with 3.7 rebounds per game. He is shooting over 53% from the floor this season (41-of-77).
SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the Scots and Generals.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Tuesday's game against LSU Alexandria, the Scots will open up American Midwest Conference play with a pair of road games this weekend. Lyon will play at Hannibal-LaGrange on Thursday at 7:30 p.m., followed by a 3 p.m. tip on Saturday at Missouri Baptist. Fans are not permitted for either game.
