BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team defended its home court and earned a 65-51 American Midwest Conference victory over William Woods this past Saturday and improved to 4-3 (3-1 AMC) on the season. The Scots will continue conference play with a road game at Columbia College on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: Grant Patterson had his best game of the year against the Owls as the sophomore guard hit five of the Scots' 10 three-pointers in the win. Patterson led all scorers with a game-high 15 points to go along with a team-high six rebounds. Cole Anderson and Dominique Loyd both finished in double-digits scoring against WWU with 10 points each. Anderson has scored in double figures in six-straight games and is the leading scorer for the Scots, averaging 13.1 points per game.

CC: Columbia enters Tuesday night's game at 8-3 overall and 2-1 in the AMC. Tony Burks is the go-to player for Columbia offensively. Burks is averaging a team-high 19.9 points per game. Burks is 59-of-72 from the charity stripe this season, while no other player for Columbia has gone to the free throw line more than 40 times. Harrison Vickers is another player the Scots will have to look to slow down as he is averaging 13.0 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
Columbia leads the all-time series, 28-4, against Lyon. The Cougars escaped with a narrow 67-63 win on Feb. 29, 2020, in the last meeting between the two teams in Batesville, Ark.

UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Tuesday's game at CC, the Scots will open up a four-game home stand with an AMC matchup against the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
