HOUSTON, Texas – Former Lyon College baseball pitcher Ryan Porras and the Tucson Saguaros completed a best of three series sweep on Tuesday as the Saguaros won their first Pecos League title since 2016. The Saguaros defeated the Salina Stockade, 6-5, on Monday before completing the series sweep with a 7-2 victory on Tuesday.
"This season of baseball was a huge blessing and an unforgettable experience with an amazing group of guys," said Porras.
Porras had a strong showing on the mound this year for the Saguaros in what was his first season of professional baseball. The southpaw appeared in nine games, making five starts. In 21.1 innings pitched, he allowed nine runs on 15 hits while striking out 25 with a 0.67 ERA.
Porras also collected two hits in six at-bats and scored one run while driving in another.
