BATESVILLE, Ark. – Entering Thursday night's game against St. Louis College of Pharmacy, the magic number was down to one for the 11th-ranked Lyon College women's basketball team to clinch the American Midwest Conference Regular-Season title. The Scots took matters into their own hands and earned their first AMC title since the 2015-16 season with a 76-40 victory over the Eutectics inside Becknell Gymnasium.

The Scots improved to 26-2 (22-1 AMC) and tied the 2015-16 team for the most conference wins in program history. STLCOP fell to 8-20 (5-18 AMC) with the loss.

It was all Lyon right from the start as a three-point play by Madison Riley put the Scots up 10-3 midway through the first quarter. STLCOP answered back with a three-pointer by Gabrielle Morgan before Riley knocked down a triple of her own to push the lead back up to seven. Grace Beyer added a pair of free throws for the Eutectics as the Scots led, 13-8, after the first quarter.

STLCOP pulled back within four points with just over three minutes left in the second quarter before the Scots ended the period on a 10-1 run to take a 31-18 lead at the half.

The Scots took full control of the game and outscored the Eutectics, 20-4, in the third quarter to extend their lead to 51-22.

The Scots' lead grew to as many as 37 in the fourth quarter following a pair of free throws by Riley with just under four minutes remaining. STLCOP knocked down a pair of three-pointers around a bucket by Klaudija Bacovic for the Scots before Madi Pierce sank a triple to give the Scots the 36-point win.

Riley led the Scots with a game-high 16 points, while Marleigh Dodson added 15 points off the bench.

Lyon will host its final game of the regular season on Saturday as the Scots take on No. 15 Columbia College at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. The Scots will honor their two seniors – Liz Henderson and Madison Riley – following Saturday's game as part of the Senior Day recognition.
