Micke Earns AMC Player of the Week

Megan Micke was named AMC Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Lyon College softball shortstop Megan Micke has been named the AMC Softball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. This is Micke's first Player of the Week award in her career.
 
The senior from Marthasville, Mo. led the Scots to a 4-0 record this past week, including a pair of wins each over Peru State College and Bethany College. Micke posted a stellar .625 batting average on the week (10-for-16), to go along with three doubles and a homerun. In the Scots 9-0 victory over Peru State College on Sunday, Micke went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, four runs scored, three RBI's, and a stolen base. On the week, the senior shortstop totaled seven runs scored, five RBI's, and two stolen bases.
 
On the season, the Marthasville, Mo. product has posted a .444 batting average with a team-high 11 runs scored. Micke also has collected seven RBI's, while swiping four bags.
 
Other nominees for the AMC Player of the Week award were: Allison Seats (Central Baptist) and Amber Mobbs (Missouri Baptist).
 
Lyon is set to travel to Conway on Tuesday to take on the University of Central Arkansas at 5:30 p.m.
