THE MATCHUP
LYON: The Scots shot lights out from beyond the arc in their 76-47 win against Central Baptist College this past Saturday and improved to 12-1 (8-0 AMC) on the season. As a team, the Scots made 13 three-pointers against the Mustangs, while Liz Henderson accounted for seven of those as she finished with a game-high 23 points in the win. Her seven made three-pointers were one shy of tying the program's single-game record of eight, which was set by both April Carter and Morgan Myrick in 2008. Henderson leads the team with 42 made three-pointers this season, which ranks seventh in the NAIA. She is currently ranked fifth in the NAIA in three-point field goals made per game (3.2).
FHU: Freed-Hardeman snuck away with a 62-58 road win at Williams Baptist this past Saturday and improved to 10-3 (7-0 AMC). Haylee Croom is the player to watch in the Lady Lions' lineup as the reigning AMC Defensive Player of the Year is averaging a double-double this season with 15.2 points per game and 11.7 rebounds per game. Chynia Brooks and Alyssa LeMay are also averaging double figures in scoring at 12.9 and 10.6 points per game, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
Freed-Hardeman holds a 26-8 advantage in the all-time series against Lyon. The Scots and Lady Lions split a two-game series last season with the road team winning each matchup.
