Men’s Basketball Visits Freed-Hardeman Tuesday

The Lyon College men’s basketball team will travel to Freed-Hardeman for an American Midwest Conference matchup on Tuesday night

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team earned its biggest win of the season this past Saturday when the Scots upset No. 18 Central Baptist College, 65-61. The Scots will look to carry that momentum into their next game as they travel to Freed-Hardeman for an American Midwest Conference matchup on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: 
The Scots improved to 10-4 (6-1 AMC) with their win over CBC and are currently tied with the Mustangs for first place in the conference standings. The victory against the Mustangs was the 100th-career win for Lyon College Head Coach Chad Tapp with the program. Ray Price sparked the Scots offensively as he netted 19 of his game-high 23 points in the first half. During a stretch late in the first half, Price played a factor in 24 of 26 points during a 26-6 run that turned into an 11-point advantage for the Scots. Price scored all 19 of his first-half points and recorded two assists during the run. He improved his season scoring average to 10.6 points per game.

FHU: Freed-Hardeman earned a 90-71 win at Williams Baptist this past Saturday and improved to 8-3 (5-1 AMC). The Lions currently sit just half a game back of the Scots and Mustangs in the conference standings. As a team, the Lions rank second in the NAIA in three-point field goals made per game (12.4). Konstantin Dotsenko leads the team with 45 made three-pointers, which ranks 10th in the NAIA. Dotsenko is sixth in the country in three-point field goals made per game (4.1). Dotsenko is also the leading scorer for the Lions at 18.5 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
Freed-Hardeman is 29-15 all-time against the Scots heading into Tuesday's matchup. The Scots are currently riding a four-game winning streak against the Lions and have won five of the last six matchups.

UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following Tuesday's game at FHU, the Scots will return home to host Park in another AMC matchup on Saturday at 3 p.m. Saturday's contest against Park will be promoted as 'We Back Pat – Alzheimer's Awareness.'
