BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team split its first two games of a four-game road trip last weekend. The Scots opened up the trip by defeating St. Louis College of Pharmacy, 64-55, before falling to Columbia College by a score of 65-57. Lyon will now conclude its trip this weekend at Lindenwood-Belleville and Missouri Baptist. The Scots will face LUB on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. before taking on MBU on Saturday at 3 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: The Scots enter the weekend 11-7 overall and are currently in the midst of a four-way tie for fourth place in the American Midwest Conference standings at 7-4. Hunter Daley led the Scots in scoring in each of their two games last weekend. Daley netted 15 points at STLCOP and followed that up with a 17-point performance at Columbia College. Daley leads the Scots in scoring this season at 12.3 points per game. Cole Anderson has been one of the top freshmen in the conference this season as he averaged 10.2 points per game through his first 10 games of his collegiate career.
LUB: Lindenwood-Belleville enters Thursday night's matchup at 3-14 (2-9 AMC). Brenden Gillman is the lone player averaging double figures in scoring this season for the Lynx at 10.2 points per game. Christian McCoy is another player to watch for the Lynx as he is averaging 8.1 points per game to go along with a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game. McCoy scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the first meeting against the Scots earlier this season on Nov. 21.
MBU: Missouri Baptist sports a record of 11-6 overall and is one of the four teams tied for fourth place in the conference at 7-4 in AMC play. The Spartans will host No. 21 Central Baptist College on Thursday night before taking on the Scots on Saturday. Jahmouri Robinson and Brendon Hardy are the go-to players offensively for the Spartans. Robinson is leading the team in scoring this season at 15.6 points per game, while Hardy is just behind him at 14.9 points per game. Hardy is a threat from beyond the arc as he leads MBU with 46 made three-pointers this season. James McKelvin and John Yaeger are also averaging double figures in scoring this season at 10.8 and 10.4 points per game, respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
Lyon is 5-7 all-time against Lindenwood-Belleville and 14-11 all-time against Missouri Baptist.
The Scots grinded out a 53-48 win at home against LUB earlier this season on Nov. 21 before cruising past MBU, 71-49, at home just two days later.
UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following this weekend's games at LUB and MBU, the Scots will return home for a brief two-game home stand. The Scots will host Harris-Stowe on Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m. for their "Coaches vs. Cancer" game. Lyon will then take on Hannibal-LaGrange on Feb. 1 at 3 p.m. for "Alumni Day."
