Men’s Basketball Travels to STLCOP, CC

The Lyon College men’s basketball team will travel to STLCOP and Columbia College this weekend

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's basketball team will open up a four-game American Midwest Conference road trip this weekend when the Scots travel to Missouri to face St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. and end the week on Saturday at Columbia College at 3 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
LYON: 
The Scots enter the weekend at 10-6 (6-3 AMC). Three Scots are averaging double figures in scoring this season led by Hunter Daley's 11.9 points per game. Daley is also the team's leading rebounder with 5.3 rebounds per game. Cole Anderson is second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per game through his first eight games of his collegiate career. Ray Price is third on the team, averaging 10.2 points per game.

STLCOP: The Eutectics stand at 3-12 (1-8 AMC) entering Thursday night's matchup. STLCOP is led by R.J. Wright and Jordan Anderson. Wright is averaging a team-high 15.4 points per game while Anderson is just behind him at 14.8 points per game. Devon Howard has been big on the boards for STLCOP as he is averaging a team-high 7.1 rebounds per game.

CC: Columbia College sports a record of 10-7 (5-4 AMC) and will host No. 21 Central Baptist College on Thursday night. The Cougars spread the wealth on offense as six players are averaging between 8-11.6 points per game. Thibault Benabid leads CC in scoring this season, averaging 11.6 points per game to go along with a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. Benabid also ranks eighth in the NAIA in total blocks (29) and 10th in blocks per game (1.7). As a team, the Cougars rank third in the NAIA in total blocks (84) and fourth in blocks per game (4.9). Justin Shaw and Casius Bell, Jr., are also averaging double figures in scoring this season at 11.4 and 10.8 points per game, respectively.  

SERIES HISTORY
The Scots hold a 9-1 advantage in the all-time series against STLCOP. The Scots and Eutectics split a two-game series last season with the home team winning each matchup.

Columbia College leads the all-time series against the Scots, 26-4. The Scots are 1-2 in the last three games against Columbia College.

UP NEXT FOR THE SCOTS
Following this weekend's games at STLCOP and CC, the Scots will wrap up their four-game road trip next week at Lindenwood-Belleville and Missouri Baptist. The Scots will face LUB on Jan. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and conclude the week at MBU on Jan. 25 at 3 p.m.
