BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team hosts Principia College on Saturday at Huser Field. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
The Matchup
Principia College: This will be the third match of the season for the Principia College Panthers. The Panthers, a member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, opened up the 2019 campaign with a win over Alverno College, before falling to Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Tuesday. Principia College is led up front by Georgia Rather and Hannah Sipe. Rather has a team-best two goals scored, while Sipe has recorded a goal and an assist. The Panthers will lean on goalkeeper, Hannah Hathaway, who has recorded 13 saves.
Lyon College: This will be the fourth match of the season for the Lyon College Scots. Lyon is coming off a 6-0 victory over Bacone College on Saturday. The Scots are led up front by
Sarah Evans and
Kimberly Fretwell. Fretwell has a team-best four goals on the year, while Evans has tallied three goals and a team-high three assists so far this season.
Caitlynn Porter and
Lauren Murray have each scored three goals in the 2019 campaign. The Scots will lean on goalkeeper,
Tabetha Troxler, who has recorded a team-best five saves.
Series History
Lyon is 1-0-1 all-time against Principia College, with their most recent meeting being in 2018 as the Scots defeated the Panthers by a score of 5-1.
