Box Score BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The Lynx of Lindenwood University-Belleville used a first-half goal and two second-half goals to defeat the Lyon College women's soccer team by a score of 3-0 on Saturday.
Lyon moves to 4-5 overall, 1-3 in the AMC, while Lindenwood University-Belleville improves to 4-5 overall, 3-1 in the AMC.
GAME FLOW
The Lynx got on the board first in the 10
th minute. Sarah Garcia struck a shot that snuck into the back of the net, giving LUB a 1-0 advantage. The score would remain 1-0 in favor of the Lynx as the halftime whistle sounded. LUB outshot Lyon 4-1 in the first 45 minutes.
The Lynx scored the first goal of the second half. In the 65
th minute, LUB's Rebecca Joensson delivered a nice pass to Erika Lloyd. Lloyd struck a shot into the back of the net, doubling LUB's lead. LUB's Rebecca Joensson would score a goal of her own in the 89
th minute, giving the Lynx a 3-0 victory over the Scots on Saturday afternoon.
