BATESVILLE, Ark. -- The Lyon College football team will be on the road for their second consecutive game as the Scots open up Sooner Athletic Conference play this Saturday at Texas College at 11 a.m. The Scots are 2-2 all-time against the Steers after Texas College stole a 38-37 victory over the Scots on Nov. 10 last season at Pioneer Stadium.
 
 
SCOUTING THE SCOTS
Lyon enters Saturday's game at 1-1 on the year after falling to Hendrix on Sept. 7 by a score of 28-20. The Scots are coming off their first of two bye weeks this year.

Randy Satterfield and Orreon Finley led the Scots offensively at Hendrix. Satterfield caught a team-high six passes for 51 yards. Finley added five catches for 47 yards and one touchdown. Josh Sierra had a fine showing at quarterback as the senior completed 12-of-20 passes for 99 yards and one touchdown.

Sam Taylor led the Scots defensively with a team-high 13 total tackles, including one-half of a tackle-for-loss against the Warriors. Taylor earned Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week accolades for his effort at Hendrix.

SCOUTING THE STEERS
Texas College enters Saturday's game at 0-1 on the year after opening up the season with a 27-0 loss at home to Lane College last weekend.

Juwan Sterling and Derrick Cooper split time as the Steers' signal-caller. Sterling completed 4-of-7 passes for 46 yards, while Cooper completed 5-of-15 passes for 28 yards. Cooper is in line to get the start for Texas College on Saturday.

Edward McDonald led the Texas College defense with a team-high 10 total tackles against Lane College. McDonald finished the game with 5.0 tackles-for-loss and 3.0 sacks. Da'trel Davis finished second on the team with seven total tackles last weekend.

UP NEXT
Following this weekend's game at Texas College, the Scots will return home to host Texas Wesleyan for Homecoming/Family Weekend on Sept. 28. Kickoff for the game against Texas Wesleyan is scheduled for 5 p.m.
