BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College volleyball team plays host to Bethel University on Tuesday inside Becknell Gymnasium. This will be the first home match of the season as the Scots try to extend their win streak to five matches. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
The Matchup
Bethel University: The Lady Wildcats will bring a 2-7 record into Becknell Gymnasium tomorrow. BU won a pair of matches over the weekend against the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Union College. Everything Bethel does offensively runs through their outside hitter, Hannah McGowan. McGowan has posted 137 kills in just nine matches this season. Her 137 kills rank McGowan 11
th in the NAIA in total kills. The Lady Wildcats use two setters to help get the ball to McGowan – Katelyn Van Hooser (174 assists) and Maggie Brooks (132 assists).
Lyon College: The Scots are 4-3 on the season after winning all four matches in the Panther Volleyball Tournament last weekend. Lyon is ranked 10
th in the NAIA in hitting percentage (.254), while
Gracen Ratliff holds the top spot in the AMC in hitting percentage (.359).
Kendra Kelley leads Lyon in kills with 62 during the 2019 campaign.
Alley Edwards,
Michayla Shanks, and
Gracen Ratliff follow closely behind with 51, 48, and 45 kills, respectively.
Kaitlyn Jackson is currently ranked sixth in the conference for total assists with 124.
Series History
This is the first time Lyon and Bethel will square off since the Scots joined the AMC.
