BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College men's soccer team concludes the Culver-Stockton Tournament on Sunday. The Scots will face the host, Culver-Stockton College, in a non-conference match starting at 1:30 p.m.
The Matchup
Culver-Stockton College: This will be the fourth game of the season for the Culver-Stockton College Wildcats. The Wildcats are coming off a 1-0 loss against Point Park University on Friday. Culver-Stockton is led up front by Javier Magallon and Fran Fayos. Magallon has a team-best two goals on the year, while Fayos leads the team with two assists. The Wildcats will lean on goalkeeper, Nicholas Luciani, who has recorded a team-high six saves, including one clean sheet.
Lyon College: The Lyon College Scots are coming off a 3-0 victory over Lincoln College on Friday. The Scots are led up front by
Raimundo Cabello,
Nate Ayalew and
Marcos Fernandez. Cabello and Ayalew have each tallied five goals on the year, while Fernandez has an NAIA-best eight assists. Lyon College will also lean on junior goalkeeper,
Vicente Alamos, who totaled a team-best 15 saves so far this season, including a clean sheet against Lincoln College on Friday.
Series History
This will be the first meeting between the two sides.
