BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Lyon College women's soccer team concludes the Texas A&M University-Texarkana Tournament on Saturday. The Scots will face Bacone College in a non-conference match starting at 12:00 p.m.
The Matchup
Bacone College: This will be the second match of the season for the Bacone College Warriors. The Warriors opened up the 2019 campaign with a loss to the Lyon College Scots on Tuesday. Bacone College will lean on goalkeeper, Andee Ellis, who recorded 20 saves in their first match of the 2019 campaign.
Lyon College: This will be the third match of the season for the Lyon College Scots. Lyon is coming off a 1-0 loss to Texas A&M-Texarkana on Thursday. The Scots are led up front by
Sarah Evans and
Kimberly Fretwell. Fretwell and Evans each recorded a hat-trick in the first game of the season against Bacone. Four Scots have a team-best two assists –
Alexandria Denton,
Sarah Evans,
Hailey Gonzales, and
Kate Whitenton. Lyon goalkeeper,
Tabetha Troxler, has a team-high five saves on the young season.
Series History
The two sides met earlier this week on August 27th with the Scots defeating the Warriors by a score of 15-0.
